As No Man's Sky continues to be updated heading into 2018, it still stands as one of gamings biggest failures. It was quite possibly the most hyped game of this decade and yet if one were to do a No Man's Sky review of what happened to it, its clear that this game was undercut by a very select few individuals. With Sony fully backing the project it was almost certain that the game would be a success. So what happened to No Man's Sky exactly, how did this game become one of the biggest messes gaming has ever created?
BrandonTan91 is the world's number one Pokémon GO player with over 300 million XP. He's a mystery to many people - some say he spoofs, some say he cheats. At the end of last year, I went to Singapore to play Pokémon GO with Brandon and his team, and this is what I learned about how Brandon Tan plays Pokémon GO... In 2017 Skyrim is still acting a system seller all across gaming over six years after the games original release. With skyrim switch hitting store shelves and coming to psvr, the game is still at the forefront of the medium mods and all. How is this possible? How can a single game retain so much relevancy for this period of time in todays web enabled world? Bethesda has made sure that skyrim is still just as fun no matter if you're playing on nintendo switch or using every mod created but there's so much more to it than that. Or is there?
Working for Gamestop was quite possibly my least enjoyable working experience. In 2018 the company is in the midst of a transitional period but working at Gamestop is not at all what you might expect it to be. When you go in and spend your gift card money and talk about games, it all seems great, but this not only a quitting story, but also a reality check. This is my Gamestop story, my story of the only job I ever quit without giving notice, and the reasons why. This is part 2 of this set of videos, with the first releasing on the channel last year. Working in games retail is tough to say the least.
Last generation, while the Xbox 360 was the main focus in game stores, many consumers were struggling with the dreaded "Red Ring of Death" that plagued the console. For a while GameStop was selling refurbished units that had new thermal paste on the CPU/GPU chipsets, the x-clamps replaced with screws and washers, and the fans would be modified to run at 8.7 volts of power consistently to keep the system cooler. Many people noticed however that aside from these refurbished consoles being louder, they also seemed to fail rather quickly. Of course, there are many people who have had nothing but luck with their GameStop refurbished consoles, but it was bad enough where the word was getting out across the Internet. It was not officially reported on until early 2015, long after the console's prime time, that GameStop was knowingly selling temporarily repaired consoles. ExtremeTech source cited here: http://www.extremetech.com/gaming/197142-gamestop-resold-temporarily-repaired-red-ring-of-death-xbox-360s-report-says This console was purchased near the end of 2017, for fun I wanted to open it up and see if it was a victim of a GameStop refurbishing or if it was simply tested and boxed up. A few weeks after this video was released, I managed to borrow a console clearly labelled as a "refurbished" unit from a friend so we could see what GameStop's ROC did, you can watch the follow-up here: https://youtu.be/wM_hDrTob8Q This video has been made with Fair Use in mind and has been created as an educational piece of media. -------------------- Hardware I Use (Affiliate Link): https://www.amazon.com/shop/mrmario2011 -------------------- Follow Me On Social Media! The world of 2018 is far less concerned with Pokemon go than just a few short months ago. With Pokemon go gen 3 upon us, its all but certain that the failures of this game were caused by one group of people. This should have been Pokemons natural evolution, a game for android and iPhones that let you live your dream of being a trainer. Instead, Pokemon go has become one of gamings biggest disappoints over the past 2 years and Niantic has managed to create nothing but problems in that same time frame. So what, and how did this happen?
