in this spotlight, I took a look at Valdis Story: Abyssal City to show off one of the most competent metroidvania styled games I've seen from the Indie Market. I may do more videos on the game too as there is a lot here to explore. -- Watch live at http://www.twitch.tv/gwbycer

Valdis Story: Abyssal City review. VIITCHA in association with ZoominGames presents a review of Valdis Story: Abyssal City for PC developed and published by Endless Fluff Games. Valdis Story Abyssal City is a great game, but it's also a game that can piss me off to no end at times. It has great combat and a stunning audio and graphical presentation, but it's also easy to nit-pick obvious flaws in this otherwise superb action-platformer. For a 2-D action-platformer Valdis Story's combat is second to none. It's nuanced, versatile and fast-paced action makes sure there is never a dull moment. You could think of the combat as if Devil May Cry was attached to a 2 dimensional plan, but with a strong emphasis on RPG elements. The platforming challenges spread throughout the different maps can be extremely frustrating and leave you stranded, partly because the smallest mistake will penalize you but it's also due impart to fighting against the controls at times. I used an Xbox 360 controller for Windows while playing and I'd highly recommend anyone interested do the same, but at no point did I feel like Valdis Story reached the platforming competence of something like Super Meat Boy. The game has some issues but the combat and presentation is the backbone of Valdis Story which more than make up for any shortcomings the game may have. This video review features video gameplay footage of Valdis Story: Abyssal City for PC and audio commentary from Steve (TerraMantis).
Dawn of sorrow is an amazing game. Hi, I'm Rawrquaza, and I upload varied video game content from games like Risk of Rain, The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth, Crypt of the Necrodancer, Dark Souls, Wanderlust; Rebirth, and other roguelike or indie titles, as well as games I simply find fun. I try to provide interesting content by recording my first experiences with new games, and then develop strategic methods to overcome some of the most difficult challenges that the games can muster.
