Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 Won't Charge/Turn On? Here's a Fix

Got a Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 Android tablet that won't turn on or charge? Here are a few fixes to try including one very effective way of getting your tablet to start charging again. Get more details here: http://www.bigpicturebigsound.com/Samsung-Galaxy-Tab-3-Won-t-Charge-or-Turn-On---How-to-Fix.shtml UPDATE: Some additional tips for those who don't get back up and running after the disassembly/reassembly: * A few people have mentioned that they needed to leave the battery cable disconnected for extended periods (one said two hours) before it would work for them. * Another couple of people have said that they needed to plug in the charging cable to the microUSB port *before* reconnecting the battery cable, so that's worth a try (but be careful plugging the unit into a charger while the back is off). * Also, it is *VERY* important to use the original Samsung factory charger and cable. We've had dozens of people write in to say it didn't work with aftermarket cables/chargers but did work with the original Samsung charger and cable. Also, I've been asked what tool I used for this. It's a standard plastic pry tool. You can get a 10-pack of the plastic pry tools on Amazon for under $2 shipped: http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/B001LKZNMI/websearchengi40-20 - people also report decent results using an old credit card or a guitar pick. There are a couple of other things that could be at play though: A dirty or damaged microUSB port can have the same symptom. Examine the port to see if there is any sign of loose or damaged components and blow the port out with compressed air to remove any dust/dirt. The last thing is this: A defective battery will have the same symptom. A replacement battery can be purchased online for under $20. Here's a link for that (7-inch Tab 3 tablet only): http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/B0118UBB80/websearchengi40-20 Replacing the battery isn't that difficult once you have the back off as it is only held in place with four small screws. I would only do this as a last resort if none of the more detailed tips here work for you and *only* if you have not seen any damage to the charging port. The port itself can also be replaced but I would recommend getting a pro to that job. Good luck!
