How To Remove Or Replace Steering Wheel On Honda Accord 2003-2007 | Auto Repair DIY Install Guide

This video is a step-by-step or tutorial guide on how to remove, replace, upgrade and/or install a steering wheel on Honda Accord years 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006 and 2007 DX LX or EX models 2.4L or 3.0L V6 by young mechanic Aiman. The steps are actually not too difficult, only a few basic tools are required but if you are not too comfortable dealing with airbags then you should consult or have it repaired by qualified automotive technicians or auto repair shops and garages or auto dealership. Some of the tools you might need would be flat head & phillip screwdrivers, T30 star / torx wrenches and basic sockets / ratchet. No power tools are required. Most of the electrical connectors can be unsnapped easily. Word of caution is make sure you disconnect the battery first, wait a few minutes (20 minutes or longer is highly encouraged), and avoid possible static discharge via clothing or other possible methods. Once you unplug the airbag itself, it can't go off. There's a shorting bar built into the connector of all airbags, that joins the two terminals to prevent "stray" voltage from being able to set the bag off. In most cases, once you've removed the airbag and center bolt, the steering wheel can just be wiggled or pulled out. However, in some cases, wheel puller tools have to be used in order to remove the stubborn steering wheel (we used Bolt Type Wheel Puller Set 46-Piece by Pittsburgh Automotive from Harbor Freight Tools, and we've also done an exclusive video on how to do that, click here for that video: If you're looking for instruction DIY auto repair guides on how to remove the clock spring / cable reel, it is the next step after removing the steering wheel. We've done a separate video on that and here's the link for that video: If you're just looking for a video on to remove just the airbag, click here: https://youtu.be/151fPVku5YY This video was done a 2004 Honda Accord, however, the process may be the same for most Honda or Acura models such as Civic, CRV, Element, Pilot and Odyssey. Even if it's not exactly the same as they will be some variances between the years and model, it may still give you a rough idea on how to do it on the vehicles manufactured by Honda.
